Is a good bus driver defined by their safe driving, friendliness or years of experience? One Italian football team added another rather unexpected quality to that list – the ability to bring good luck!
And the star of this story is our very own bus driver, Karin.
It all started with an ordinary bus journey. This summer, Taisto bus driver Karin was driving an Italian football team to their matches.
Transporting sports teams is nothing new for us. We’ve been providing bus hire and charter services across Estonia and Europe for over 30 years. But this time, an ordinary journey turned into something rather special.
First match – a win!
Second match – another win!
After several consecutive victories, the Italians began to suspect that their success wasn’t just down to good form and great teamwork. What if their secret weapon was actually their bus driver, Karin?
Superstitions are quite common in football. When something brings good luck, you don’t change it! So the team made one thing clear: they wanted Karin behind the wheel for every match until the very end. No changing drivers. No taking chances. Their lucky charm had to stay on board!
Karin continued driving the team, making sure the players arrived safely and comfortably at each of their matches.
And guess what happened next?
The Italians won every single game! Was it down to their incredible teamwork, excellent preparation or Karin’s mysterious ability to bring good luck? We may never know.
But one thing was certain for the Italians – Karin was their lucky charm!
As a thank you, the team even gave Karin a gift.
We’ve always known that Karin is an excellent bus driver. But finding out that she could also keep a football team’s winning streak alive was news to us too! A great bus driver is so much more than just someone behind the wheel.
Karin’s story reminds us just how important a bus driver is to the overall travel experience. A good bus driver does more than simply take people from A to B. They make sure passengers feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey.
And that takes several important qualities:
Calmness and attentiveness. An experienced bus driver knows how to anticipate situations on the road and react calmly to the unexpected.
Friendliness and helpfulness. Sometimes, all it takes is a smile or a kind word to make someone’s day a little better.
Flexibility. Schedules can change during group trips and journeys with sports teams. A good bus driver knows how to adapt and find solutions.
A good sense of humour. On longer journeys, the bus driver often becomes part of the group and the memories they make together.
In Karin’s case, there was one more quality to add to the list – at least according to the Italian football team. She became their lucky charm, and they weren’t willing to replace her before the final match!
